Get your bearings

Who does what?

01 / Operations

Officers

Maintain assets, lease details, lifecycle steps, movements, payments and asset issues. Record the responsible people and supporting evidence.

02 / Account oversight

Administrators

Have staff access and manage account creation and roles. Staff maintain investor profiles and record their compliance status.

03 / Portfolio visibility

Investors

View their assigned containers, their investments and payments, relevant movements and issues, and documents shared with them.

And the lessee? This is the company hiring the container, recorded in the lease details. There is no separate lessee login role in the current portal.

The path through

Six stops. No guesswork.

Use this as a suggested sequence. Some work repeats; some preparation steps may not apply to a particular container.

  1. 01Choose & allocate

Start with the right container and people.

Match the intended use to the container type and its recorded condition. The lessee is the company hiring the container; the investor funds an allocated asset. They have different responsibilities.

    • Check the unit number, ISO serial number, container type and location with the team.
    • Review fitted features: plain, lockbox, refrigeration, insulation, ventilation, tracking or custom. “Not recorded” means the configuration still needs checking.
    • For an investment, complete the requested identity and source-of-funds information. Staff record the compliance status, agreement and asset allocation.

Have ready: intended use, container requirements and the relevant account or agreement reference.

    View assigned assets
  2. 02Inspect & prepare

Know the condition before the handover.

The operations checklist starts at purchase inspection and ownership, then depot receipt and any preparation work. Staff keep a separate record for each occurrence, so repeat work has its own history.

    • Check identity, structure, floor, doors, seals, visible damage and the CSC plate. Record arrival condition at the depot.
    • Record applicable repairs, modifications, painting and cleaning, followed by final quality checks. Explain any step marked not applicable.
    • Review the survey outcome and examination evidence. A completed record can include a failed survey; completion alone does not approve a shipment.

Keep together: inspection reports, condition photos, work records and survey evidence.

    Explore all 12 operational records
  3. 03Agree & hand over

Get the terms and responsibilities clear.

The asset record holds the lease company, reference, start date and end date. The handover record captures lease acceptance, responsible parties, applicable insurance and the container’s condition.

    • Confirm the hire period and any extension, cancellation or early-return arrangements with the team in the agreement.
    • Confirm hire charges, any deposit, delivery or collection costs, and responsibility for damage or repairs before proceeding.
    • Keep the lease, signed handover and equipment interchange receipt (EIR), with insurance evidence where applicable.

Check the actual agreement. This guide does not set a hire rate, deposit amount or refund entitlement.

    Understand payments and costs
  4. 04Collect or deliver

    Make every handover traceable.

Staff record collection or delivery, depot details and condition discrepancies. For shipment, the dispatch record keeps booking, carrier, voyage, seal and the applicable shipping documents.

    • Confirm the collection or delivery location, timing and responsible party with the team. The site does not book a transport slot.
    • Keep the EIR, delivery note and dated handover photos together; note discrepancies in the record.
    • For dispatch, record the booking and shipping evidence, including cargo, customs and packed-container mass information when applicable.

Follow recorded events such as gate out, loaded, departed, arrived and delivered in Movements.

    View movement records
  5. 05Track the hire

Follow the dates, updates and payments.

During the hire, staff maintain the container’s status, location and next expected update. Investors can follow their assigned assets, investment agreements, payment records and asset issues.

    • Check lease dates on the asset. The investment’s agreement and maturity dates are separate records.
    • Use the movement history and recorded timestamps for updates. The mapped route is a planned sea route, not live vessel tracking.
    • Review payment status and references. Raise a missing update, damage or payment question with the team using the asset or agreement reference.

Staff can record open, monitoring and resolved asset issues, with a summary visible to assigned investors.

    View payment records
  6. 06Return & review

Close the loop with condition evidence.

Return, maintenance and reinspection are repeatable operational records. An empty-return movement records the event; it does not by itself settle charges or close the agreement.

    • Confirm the return arrangement and any outstanding amounts with the team against the agreement.
    • Keep the return EIR, inspection report and damage photos. Record corrective work and updated examination evidence where needed.
    • For a disputed condition or charge, share the relevant references and before/after evidence with the team. Asset-issue tracking is available; a formal online dispute process is not.

Refunds can be recorded in the payment ledger. The site does not calculate a deposit refund or decide liability.

Follow the money

Know what a payment record means.

The ledger records amounts in USD, a due date, status, calculation basis and payment references. It can hold a paid date and a private receipt. A scheduled entry is not proof of payment.

Recorded in the portal

  • Capital received, lease income and investor returns.
  • Management fees and refunds, where recorded.
  • Monthly or prorated calculation basis.
  • Scheduled, processing, paid, failed or cancelled status.
Check your ledger

Confirm in your agreement

  • The hire rate, payment timing and agreed period.
  • Any deposit, how it is held and refund conditions.
  • Delivery, collection, repair or management charges.
  • Extension, cancellation and late-return arrangements.

The workflow does not set standard amounts or automatically collect, calculate or refund these charges.

Investment ≠ hire charge. Investor principal and return-rate records describe an investment. The container purchase price is not a hire quote. Confirm the rate, basis, timing and any costs in the signed agreement; an illustration is not a guaranteed return.

The paperwork trail

One container. A complete record trail.

These are the 12 steps in the operations checklist. Open a step to see what staff record and which evidence belongs with it. Documents vary with the work and shipment.

01Purchase inspection

Check identity, CSC plate, structure, floor, doors, seals and visible damage before acceptance.

Keep as evidence
Inspection report, CSC plate and container-number photos, exterior/interior condition photos.

02Purchase & ownership

Record the seller, purchase price, purchase date, ownership and release reference.

Keep as evidence
Invoice, sale agreement, payment receipt and release order.

03Depot receipt & condition

Record collection/delivery, depot, handover condition and any discrepancies.

Keep as evidence
Equipment interchange receipt (EIR), delivery note and dated arrival photos.

04Repairs

Record defects, approved scope, contractor and completed repairs before finishing work.

Keep as evidence
Estimate, work order, repair report, invoice and before/after photos.

05Modifications

Record the design, approvals and work performed. Have changes affecting the original CSC approval assessed before return to shipping service.

Keep as evidence
Drawings, approval correspondence, work report and before/after photos.

06Surface preparation & painting

Record preparation, coating system, colour, application dates and contractor; keep markings and the safety plate legible.

Keep as evidence
Paint specification, work report, invoice and preparation/finished photos.

07Cleaning & cargo suitability

Check cleanliness, dryness, odour, residues and pests for the intended cargo. Record treatment only when applicable.

Keep as evidence
Cleaning report, interior photos and treatment records when required.

08Final quality checks

Check completed work, doors, locking gear, seals, floor and agreed weather-tightness checks. Record unresolved defects.

Keep as evidence
Signed checklist, test results and final condition photos.

09Survey & CSC examination

Record the survey scope and outcome separately from the CSC examination scheme. A condition survey alone does not establish CSC approval.

Keep as evidence
Survey/examination report, readable CSC plate photo and ACEP evidence or next examination date, as applicable.

10Lease, insurance & handover

Record lease acceptance, responsible parties, applicable insurance cover and handover condition.

Keep as evidence
Lease, insurance evidence where applicable, signed handover and EIR.

11Shipment & dispatch

Record the booking, carrier, voyage, seal and shipping documents for each dispatch. Record VGM for packed containers when applicable.

Keep as evidence
Booking, EIR, bill of lading/sea waybill, seal photo, VGM and customs/cargo documents as applicable.

12Return, maintenance & reinspection

Repeat on return, damage, repairs or examination due dates. Log findings and corrective work.

Keep as evidence
Return EIR, inspection report, damage photos, repair records and updated examination evidence.

For the operations team

Open Assets → an asset → Steps & records, or Container steps. Record status, dates, responsible person, supplier, location, cost, references and notes. Upload PDFs or photos, then save the record. Create a new record whenever the work repeats.

Completed records need a completion date. Completed surveys also need scope, outcome, surveyor, report reference and an attachment; examination details depend on the recorded scheme and result. “Not applicable” needs a reason. Next-due dates show overdue or due-within-30-days notices.

After accepted modification work, update the asset’s fitted features separately. Use Print / save PDF for the full history and attachment index; original files remain separate authenticated downloads. Prior edits are retained in Payload versions.

Lifecycle records, their versions and step evidence are staff-only. Other private documents are shared through owner/viewer access. Detaching a step attachment preserves the original in Private documents.

Clear the last few branches

Common questions.

Can I book a container or pay online?

The current site supports staff-managed records and investor reporting. Contact the team to discuss a hire; there is no self-service hire booking, checkout or transport booking on the site.

How much is the hire, deposit or delivery?

Confirm these amounts and any cancellation, late-return or damage charges in your agreement. The displayed container purchase price is an asset acquisition figure, not a rental rate or deposit. There is no published hire tariff or standard deposit/refund schedule in this workflow.

Does “completed” mean a container is ready to ship?

No. It means the work was recorded as completed. Check the survey result, unresolved defects and applicable examination evidence. A condition survey and a CSC examination have separate scopes; a failed survey can still be a completed work record.

Can I see every document?

Investors see documents shared with their account through document ownership or viewer access. Operational step records, their history and attachments are staff-only. Contact the team if a document needed for your agreement is missing.

Can I extend the hire or arrange an early return here?

The site stores lease start and end dates. It does not provide an automatic renewal, extension or cancellation process. Agree any change and its costs with the team, who can update the records.

What if something is damaged, delayed or disputed?

Contact the team with the container number, relevant dates, agreement or payment reference and supporting evidence. Staff can record an asset issue and its status. The site does not prescribe a settlement deadline, compensation amount or dispute outcome.
